Erin MacDonald’s formal education in Anthropology and Film Studies at the University of Washington, alongside a rigorous shamanic studies program, has enabled her/them to create multi-dimensional worlds on the page in which the spiritual plane and physical realm co-exist and inform one another.
Erin nurtured their performance and speaking skills while she was a student at BENT: A Queer Writing Institute, allowing her words to reach new heights and new audiences. Erin co-produced a spoken word performance, MUCK, in Seattle, Washington alongside six other performance poets.
In 2016, she received a certificate in Editing from the University of Washington. In addition to co-hosting a monthly spoken word open mic night, Erin has facilitated queer creative writing sessions. She was an editor for the literary journal, From Glasgow to Saturn from 2018-2019.
They received a Master of Fine Arts with Distinction at the University of Glasgow.
